About the show
Having left the modelling world to become a qualified chef, baker and pâtissier, Lorraine Pascale has worked in some of the most critically acclaimed UK restaurants while simultaneously juggling life as a mother, food journalist and business owner.
In her series Baking Made Easy, Lorraine's recipes will inspire everyone from the cautious novice cook to those with more accomplished skills.
The first show kicks off with a feat of baking engineering where Lorraine demonstrates mouth-watering recipes including Parmesan and Poppy Seed Lollipops. South African viewers will learn that according to Lorraine, these are actually one of the simplest and fastest things you can bake. The expert baker produces delicious treats including Blueberry and Lemon Millefeuille and Fig, Cream Cheese and Mint Tart - whilst revealing her secrets that make these stunning delicacies so easy to bake.
Professionally trained and holding a diploma from Leith’s School of Food and Wine in the UK, Lorraine has worked in some of the most renowned kitchens of the world, including Petrus, The Mandarin Oriental, Gilgamesh and The Wolseley.
In 2009, she went on to start her own business creating celebration cakes and subsequently opened her first retail operation, the Covent Garden-based Ella’s Bakehouse, a specialist and popular cupcake shop.
Since then Lorraine’s career and popularity has soared, with the success of Baking Made Easy in the UK firmly securing her a place as one of Britain’s brightest new baking stars.
