Come Dine With Me South Africa S4 (the “Competition”)

Terms and Conditions

  1. The BBC Code of Conduct (the “Code”) for competitions can be found at www.bbc.co.uk/competitioncode and all BBC Studios (“BBCS”) promotions must comply with the Code.

  2. The Competition is open to all residents of South Africa aged 18 years or over except BBCS or BBC employees, and anyone BBCS deems to be connected with the Competition (“Entrants”).

  3. You must not be a distributor, retailer or otherwise a supplier in relation to the Competition.

  4. BBCS may select an alternative winner if you do not meet the requirements in these Terms and Conditions.

  5. By entering the Competition, the Entrants agree:

a. to be bound by these Terms and Conditions; (which are also available at www.bbcsouthafrica.com) b. that their full name and place of residence may be released if they win a prize; and c. should they win the Competition, their name and likeness may be used by BBCS for pre-arranged promotional purposes.

The competition will open at The Competition will run for a period beiginning at 20:00 (SAST) on 12 April 2018 and closing at 08:00 (SAST) on 19 April 2018 (“Closing Date”). Entries received after the Closing Date will not be considered. Entries cannot be returned.

  1. Entrants will be asked to answer one (1) question related to an episode of Come Dine With Me South Africa S4: ‘Who wins the prize and title of the ultimate dinner party host?’

  2. Entrants must answer via www.bbcsouthafrica.com (the “Website”). (For the avoidance of doubt, entries received via Facebook, Twitter or by any other means format other than the Website will not be accepted or considered.)

  3. One (1) winner will be chosen at random by way of a lucky draw that will take place at BBC Studios’ offices in Johannesburg and shown on ‘Facebook Live’ (“Winner”).

  4. Winner will receive a Gorrenje Chefs collection food processor (for a total prize value of R5,025 (five thousand and twenty five Rand) (the “Prize”).

  5. Entrants must supply to BBCS their full name, postal address, email address and daytime telephone number. BBCS will only ever use the Entrant’s personal details for the purposes of administering this Competition, and will not publish them or provide them to anyone without permission. The BBC Privacy Policy is available at www.bbcworldwide.com/privacy.aspx .

  6. Only one (1) entry will be permitted per person regardless of method of entry and bulk entries (meaning the use of any form of technology which allows multiple simultaneous entries) will not be permitted. Entries on behalf of another person will not be accepted and joint submissions are not allowed. No responsibility is taken for entries that are lost, delayed, misdirected or incomplete or cannot be delivered for any technical or other reason. Entries received after the Closing Date will not be considered.

  7. BBCS's decision as to the Winner is final and no correspondence relating to the Competition will be entered into.

  8. Any promotional activity or press release the winner makes in relation to the Competition must be pre-approved by BBCS in writing.

  9. The Winner will be notified within 1 (one) week of the closing date by email. On successful contact and confirmation with the Winner BBCS shall arrange for the prize to be sent to the Winner’s designated address by post or by courier. BBCS will not be liable for any disruption, delay, strike action or incorrect delivery by any postal or courier service.

  10. There is no cash alternative and the Prize will not be transferable. BBCS accepts no responsibility for any costs associated with the Prize and not specifically included in the Prize. If the Prize is unavailable for whatever reason then BBCS reserves the right to substitute the Prize for another prize of equal or greater value.

  11. The name and city of residence of the winner(s) may be obtained by sending a self-addressed envelope to BBC Studios, CEMA Marketing, 1 Television Centre, 101 Wood Lane, London, W12 7FA, United Kingdom, within 2 (two) months of the closing date of the Competition.

  12. BBCS reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions or to cancel, alter or amend the Competition or the prize at any stage, if deemed necessary in its opinion, or if circumstances arise outside of its control.

  13. If the Winner is unable to be contacted within 1 (one) calendar month of the closing date of the Competition, BBCS reserves the right to offer the prize to a runner up, or to re-offer the prize in any future BBCS promotion.

  14. BBCS excludes liability to the full extent permitted by law for any loss, damage or injury occurring to the participant arising from his or her entry into the Competition or occurring to the winner(s) arising from his or her acceptance of a prize.

  15. If there are any promotions related to this Competition on any Facebook, Instagram or Twitter, the Competition will not be deemed in any way associated with Facebook, Instagram or Twitter through sponsoring, endorsing or administering the Competition. You understand that you are providing your information to BBCS and not to Facebook Instagram and Twitter. You agree to release Facebook, Twitter and Instagram from all liability whatsoever in connection with the Competition.

  16. These Terms and Conditions are governed by and will be interpreted in accordance with South African law.
