Terms and Conditions
The BBC Code of Conduct (the “Code”) for competitions can be found at https://www.bbc.com/editorialguidelines/guidance/code-of-conduct and all BBC Studios (“BBCS”) promotions must comply with the Code.
The Competition is open to all residents of South Africa aged 18 years or over except BBCS BBC employees, and anyone BBCS deems to be connected with the Competition (“Entrant(s)”).
You must not be a distributor, retailer or otherwise a supplier in relation to the Competition.
BBCS may select an alternative winner if you do not meet the requirements in these Terms and Conditions.
By entering the Competition, the Entrants agree: a. to be bound by these Terms and Conditions; (which are also available at: https://www.bbcsouthafrica.com b. that their full name and place of residence may be released if they win a prize; and c. should they win the Competition, their name and likeness may be used by BBCS for pre-arranged promotional purposes.
No purchase is necessary to enter.
Entrant(s) must (i) watch the programme “Riviera” every Sunday at 20:00 SAST where competition details are released as set out under Annex 1. Entrant(s) will need to go to bbcsouthafrica.com to answer the competition question to stand a chance to win a Samsung 50” Smart TV.
The competition will open at 20.00 SAST on Sunday 12 July 2020 and will close at Midnight SAST on Sunday 09 August 2020 (“Closing Date”). Entries received after the Closing Date will not be considered. Entries cannot be returned.
Multiple entries will be permitted per person on each platform. Entries on behalf of another person will not be accepted. No responsibility is taken for entries that are lost, delayed, misdirected or incomplete or cannot be delivered for any technical or other reason. Entries received after the Closing Date will not be considered.
There will be a total of 4 (four) winners The winning Entrants will be selected at random after the closing date (“Winner(s)”).
Each Winner will receive a Samsung 50” Smart TV worth R10,000 (ten thousand South African Rand)(the “Prize”).
Winners must organise their own transport to receive their Prize on the date’s given by BBCS after the Closing Date. The Prize excludes any travel expenses, hotel accommodation or any personal expenditure or incidental costs.
BBCS's decision as to the Winners are final and no correspondence relating to the Competition will be entered into.
The Winner(s) will be announced and notified every Friday by email and will need to confirm acceptance of their Prize by 1st September 2020.
If the Winner is unable to be contacted within 3 (three) days of the closing date of the Competition, BBCS reserves the right to offer the prize to another Entrant, or to re-offer the prize in any future BBCS promotion.
There is no cash alternative and the Prize will not be transferable. BBCS accepts no responsibility for any costs associated with the Prize and not specifically included in the Prize. If the Prize is unavailable for whatever reason then BBCS reserves the right to substitute the Prize for another prize of equal or greater value.
The name and city of residence of the winner(s) may be obtained by sending a self-addressed envelope to BBC Studios EMEA Marketing, 1 Television Centre, 101 Wood Lane, London, W12 7FA, United Kingdom, within 2 (two) months of the closing date of the Competition.
BBCS reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions or to cancel, alter or amend the Competition or the prize at any stage, if deemed necessary in its opinion, or if circumstances arise outside of its control.
BBCS excludes liability to the full extent permitted by law for any loss, damage or injury occurring to the participant arising from his or her entry into the Competition or occurring to the winner(s) arising from his or her acceptance of a prize.
IIf there are any promotions related to this Competition on any Facebook, Instagram or Twitter, the Competition will not be deemed in any way associated with Facebook, Instagram or Twitter through sponsoring, endorsing or administering the Competition. You understand that you are providing your information to BBC Studios and not to Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. You agree to release Facebook, Instagram and Twitter from all liability whatsoever in connection with the Competition.
These Terms and Conditions are governed by and will be interpreted in accordance with South African law.
