Chilli and Cumin Spiced Crackers

  • 2.5 cups Whole Wheat Flour
  • 3 tsp. Cumin Seeds
  • 1 tsp. Peppercorns
  • 1.5 tsp. Salt
  • 1/2 tsp. Garlic Powder
  • 8 ea. Dried Red Chillies
  • 12 tsp. Sunflower Oil
  • +/- 12 tsp. Warm Water
  • 20 ea. Curry Leaves

Preparation method


  • Preheat oven to 200°C.
  • Tast cumin seeds, peppercorns and toast on low heat
  • Toast the curry leaves until fragrant and brittle
  • Toast the dried chillies
  • Cool spices then crush in a spice grinder to a coarse texture
  • Combine flour, salt, garlic and spices
  • Pour in the oil and a little water at a time to form a stiff dough
  • Divide the dough into 3 equal portions
  • Roll the dough into a very thin sheet and cut into shapes
  • Place on a lined baking sheet and bake 5-7 minutes
