Ingredients

Mutton pooitje
- mutton pieces
- 1 onion, chopped
- garlic cloves, chopped
- masala
- other spices of your choice
- olive oil
- water
- lamb stock
- 3 potatoes
- 1 pkt pumpkin
- 1 pkt carrots
- 1 pkt baby marrow
- 1 pkt mushrooms
Dombolo
- 5 cups flour
- pinch salt
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 pkt yeast
- water
- 1 tin creamed sweetcorn
Coleslaw
- 6 carrots
- 3 onions
- 1 cabbage
- 1 pineapple
- mayonnaise
- mustard
- plain yoghurt
Preparation method
Mutton pooitjie
- Toast masala and spices, then add olive oil, garlic and onion. Fry until golden brown.
- Add mutton pieces, fry then add some water. Allow to simmer for a while.
- Chop potatoes, pumpkin, carrots, baby marrow and mushrooms.
- Layer chopped veg over mutton, add stock and cook until lamb is tender.
Dombolo
- In bowl, mix together flour, salt, sugar and yeast. Add water and knead well.
- Add sweetcorn and leave to prove.
- Place dough into metal bowl and place bowl into pot with water. Cover and bring to boil.
Coleslaw
- Grate carrots, onion, cabbage and pineapple,
- Place into bowl and combine with mayonnaise, yoghurt and mustard.
- Vegetarian meal will exclude meat.
