Ingredients

• 2½ cups (625ml) wholewheat flour
• 1 box (500g) All Bran flakes
• ½ cup (125ml) raisins
• ¼ cup sunflower seeds
• ¼ cup linseeds
• 1½ cups (375ml) brown sugar
• 5 tsp (25ml) bicarbonate of soda
• 4 large eggs
• 2 cups (500ml) oil
• 1½-2 cartons (1 litre) buttermilk

Preparation method

  1. Mix dry ingredients together.
  2. Add wet ingredients, and stir to mix well.
  3. Bake at 180°C for 20-25 minutes.
  4. Serve when necessary – keeps in the fridge for 6 weeks!
